The Maxi is K Care’s wide seat transit commode, for a client who sits outside the range of a standard commode. It is built on a reinforced stainless steel frame, with four seat widths and a load rating that rises with the seat size.
Padded armrests swing up for a side transfer and the footrests swing away for a stand or a hoist. All four castors brake. The chair rolls over a standard toilet or takes a commode pan, so your client is showered and toileted in one seat, and the frame is built to the Australian standard.
Who it suits
A client past the weight or hip width of a standard commode who depends on a carer to be moved, and who needs to be wheeled to the shower or over the toilet. Match the seat width to the hip measurement with room for clothing and for a sling. A client who can propel themselves should be looked at for the self-propelled Maxi with rear wheels. The seat sits upright, so the client needs to be able to hold that position for the routine.
