The Malte is a posterior walking frame for children at GMFCS levels III and IV, usable from around a child’s first steps through to adolescence as the sizes go up. Walking from behind the frame encourages the child to bring their trunk upright and step forward into space, and pelvis support pads help hold that position.
The frame is abducted, so it stays clear of the legs so the swinging limb does not knock it. The friction brake system lets a therapist set resistance at the wheels, so a child who runs away from the frame can be slowed and a child building confidence can be given an easier roll. A backwards stop guards against the frame rolling away behind them.
A padded bench doubles as a backrest and flips out of the way, EVA steering wheels handle indoor floors, and the armrests adjust continuously rather than in fixed steps. The aluminium frame folds for transport.
