The cover is part of how the cushion performs. Its open structure allows ventilation through to the SmartCells, which helps with temperature and moisture at the skin and reduces shear and friction as the client moves in the seat.

Keeping a second cover in the cupboard is sensible for anyone who sits full time, because it means the cushion never has to go back into service damp.
