Self propelling clients often put up with a sling back because a rigid back support gets in the way of pushing. The Spex Zygo Active Mid is built for exactly that person: a contoured shell that gives mild to moderate postural support while leaving the arms and shoulder blades free to work.
The shell inverts, so the lateral height can be flipped to give more or less trunk containment without changing parts. Ventilation through the shell keeps the back cooler than a solid panel, and the cover comes off for washing.
Drop mount hardware installs and removes with one hand, which suits a client who transfers independently and strips the chair down for the car. Sizing is taken from the person’s torso rather than the width of the chair.
