The Spex Zygo Active Contour Lo is for the client who pushes their own chair. Trunk mobility and strength are moderate rather than absent, so the contour is deliberately shallow: enough to give postural reference and alignment, not so much that it contains the trunk and takes the movement away.
The low height keeps the shell clear of the shoulder blades and upper trunk, which protects the push stroke and reach that an active user depends on. The top edge is rounded and padded, because a user who extends back over the top edge needs their spine protected where it meets the shell.
The shell is a breathable composite with a ventilated pattern, so heat does not build against the back on a long day out. The cover is removable and washable, and cover extensions are supplied as standard to close the gap between the back support and the seat cushion. Drop mount hardware comes in four sizes and works single handed, which suits a user with limited hand function taking the back off to load the chair into a car.
