About this product

The Sentida SC is a low nursing bed that tries to serve three people at once: the client at risk of falling, the client who still wants to get up on their own, and the carer who needs the bed at a sensible working height. It lowers for falls management, lifts for care tasks, and stops at a mobilisation height where the client’s feet meet the floor at chair height for standing up.

The four-part SafeFree mobility rails are the feature worth understanding. They split at the middle of the bed, so the client gets out through the gap while the head-end section stays up as a hand hold. One set of rails protects the client in bed and supports them on the way out of it. The backrest retracts as it raises to take shear off the sacrum, the thigh rest supports the legs, and comfort seating and prophylactic positions are pre-set on the hand control. This model is finished in Lindberg Oak, so it reads as furniture rather than ward equipment.

Who it suits

A client at high falls risk who is still mobile enough to want out of bed, which makes it a common choice in dementia care and for discharge home with a mobile client. For a bariatric client beyond its rating, the Sentida SC-XXL is the wider, higher-rated version.
