Night positioning and repositioning usually fight each other: the supports that hold a client in good alignment are the same ones that make sliding them up the bed a two person job. The Symmetrikit SymmSlyde puts both in one system.
The base is a hook and loop receptor sheet over the mattress, with a pressure-redistributing Airmantle layer and a washable CoolOver top sheet. A Slyde tube lets a carer move the client up or across the bed, or log roll them, without lifting. Once the client is where they should be, SymmetriSleep brackets and Lowzone foam cushions attach to the sheet and lock the slide function, so the posture holds through the night instead of drifting.
The CoolOver sheet is a 3D spacer fabric that lets heat and moisture out, which matters for a client who cannot move away from a warm spot, and the Airmantle wipes clean. It works over profiling beds and pressure care mattresses. This listing is the king single sheet size.
Who it suits
A client with a neurological condition, high or low tone, or a fixed asymmetry who needs supported lying to protect hip and spine alignment overnight, and whose carers currently struggle to reposition them. It suits a two-carer or single-carer home where turning is done several times a night.
Good to know
- Set up and configuration should be done by an OT or physiotherapist, and we can arrange this with the assessment
- Brackets and cushions are chosen per client and may be quoted separately from the sheet
- Wash the CoolOver sheet and cushion covers to the Symmetrikit washing instructions; wipe the Airmantle
- Maximum user weight for the SymmetriSleep range is 120 kg
