Sitting transfers across a board are hard on the skin. The client is dragging their buttocks and thighs over a solid surface, and for anyone with reduced sensation or a pressure injury history that shear adds up. This slide goes over any standard sitting transfer board and turns the drag into a glide.
An anti slip panel grips the board underneath so the slide does not travel with the client, and the top face lets them move across smoothly. Many clients who were previously needing a hand can manage the transfer themselves once the friction is taken out, and where a carer is assisting, the effort required drops sharply.
It folds up small enough to live in a wheelchair bag, and it washes, which matters for a device used between bed, chair and car through the day.
