Lateral supports are the working parts of a supported lying system. Used as a pair, they sit either side of the body to stop gravity pulling the trunk, pelvis or legs into the positions that reshape a body over time.
These come with their mesh, so they lock into the base layer between the two non slip layers and hold the position a clinician has set and do not slide out through the night. Three sizes cover small children through to larger adults, and supports of different sizes can be combined within one set up to support different parts of the body.
The pads come off for washing and the plastic insert wipes clean, which makes them practical for a family running the system every night. For therapists, the pair is the usual starting point in a first prescription.
