The base layer is what everything else in a Simple Stuff Works sleep system is built on. It combines two layers of anti microbial non slip mesh with a temperate mattress topper and a soft stretchy sheet, and supports are placed between the two mesh layers so they stay exactly where the clinician set them.
That matters because a support that drifts during the night stops doing its job. The mesh holds the arrangement in place, and the topper wicks moisture away from the skin and lets air move, so the client is not lying in a damp, hot bed by morning.
It comes in cot and single sizes, so it can go on a child’s cot or a standard single bed at home. Everything in the combination is machine washable, which is the part families ask about first.
