For a client whose knees fall together in sitting, a medial thigh block holds the legs apart so the pelvis can sit level. Spex build this one with an axial-adjust pad, so you can offset and swivel the pad to match an asymmetric position.
Weight then carries evenly through both ischial tuberosities and both thighs, which helps pressure distribution as well as posture. It is a common answer for spasticity, contracture, windswept hips and hip dysplasia, where the client needs the correction held steadily through the day.
The swing-down, lift-off mechanism matters for carers. The block drops away for a lateral transfer and lifts off completely for a front transfer, so the support never becomes the reason a transfer gets skipped. The expansion fabric cover lets the pad be set through its full height and depth range without pinching the cover, and it can be bolted in place where a client should not be able to remove it.
