This bracket mounts a lateral trunk support directly onto the wheelchair cane, so the lateral is carried by the chair itself, independent of the back support. That independence is useful when the back support is a shaped shell you do not want to drill into, or when the lateral needs to sit higher or further back than the shell allows.
It takes either the Spex swing away lateral bracket or the axial swing away bracket, so a carer can swing the lateral clear for a side transfer and return it to the same position. Left and right versions are ordered individually, which means a single lateral can be fitted on one side only where the trunk asymmetry is one sided.
