The Spex Fixed Thigh Support is positioning hardware that mounts to a seat base or seat rail and carries a thigh pad at a fixed angle. Setting and holding the thigh does more than control the leg: it steadies the pelvis, and a steady pelvis is what the rest of the sitting posture is built on.
It suits a client who needs abduction control or a defined thigh position, and it works well alongside lateral trunk supports where the aim is to build stability from the pelvis up. Because the angle is fixed by design, it is firmer than an adjustable-angle support, which is exactly what you want for a client who pushes hard against the pad.
Height adjusts in steps and depth adjusts along slots in the pad plate, so the pad can be moved fore and aft along the thigh to find the spot that works. Hardware comes in quick-release, which lets the support come off completely for a transfer, or swing-down, which moves it clear without taking it off the chair. Mounting is to the seat base or the seat rail, and the range fits most chairs and seating systems. Pads are chosen separately, in standard pressure-relieving foam with a neoprene cover, or with a gel foam overlay, Spextex wipe-down or knitted cover, custom sizes and cut-outs.
