Clients with limited head control need more than a pad behind the skull. The Spex extended lateral head support is a one piece design with a posterior pad extended along the suboccipital area, so the head stays cradled and encouraged towards midline as it rotates.
The lateral sections run forward to contain the head for clients with low tone who would otherwise drop to one side. An ear cut out keeps the resting positions comfortable when the head turns. Vertical straps hold the head in the support for clients who need that extra containment through movement or transport.
Construction is an internal aluminium shell with injection moulded polyurethane foam over it and a memory foam overlay on top, which gives a smooth surface and pressure reduction for clients with high tone patterns. Paired with Spex Stylo hardware, it can be positioned to suit a wide range of head presentations.
