Soiled and infected linen is one of the more avoidable infection risks in a ward or sluice room, because most of it comes from staff handling the bag itself. This linen skip bag is made from polyethylene with a dissolvable seam, so the whole bag goes straight into the wash and opens up during the cycle. Nobody has to tip it out or sort it by hand.
A detachable water soluble tie closes the bag at the point of use. Staff can seal it at the bedside, move it to the skip and send it to the laundry without reopening it, which keeps the handling chain short and the process easy to teach to casual and agency staff.
