The general purpose sling is the workhorse of a hoist program, and this one adds head support for clients who cannot hold their own head through a transfer. Support runs from head to thigh, which covers the person who tires quickly, the person with fluctuating tone and the person being hoisted while unwell.
Mesh is the fabric to ask for when the sling has to go in and out of water or when moisture is part of the picture, such as shower chair and bathing routines. It drains and dries quickly, which keeps skin drier between transfers and shortens the turnaround in a shared facility.
Check the size against your client’s height and hip measurement, since a head support sling that is too large loses the very support you chose it for.
