A turning disc takes the twist out of a seated or standing transfer. The client’s feet go on the top plate, the plate rotates, and their hips and knees do not have to grind through the turn while the carer steadies them.
It suits clients who can weight bear but cannot step round safely, which covers a lot of people moving between a bed and a chair, or in and out of a car. Carers get a much shorter, more predictable move, and there is less chance of a foot catching mid turn.
This is the smaller disc in the range, which is useful in bathrooms, bedsides and vehicle doorways where floor space is tight. The client does need reasonable standing tolerance and something to hold, so it works best where a carer or a rail is giving them upper body support.
