Clients who gradually slide down the bed cost their carers a lot of repeated effort, and each one of those slides is friction on the skin. A one way slide is the simple answer: it lets movement happen in the direction you want and resists it in the other, so a person who has been boosted up the bed stays boosted.
It comes in three sizes, so you can choose a small piece placed under the pelvis for someone who only needs help holding position, or a larger piece that covers more of the trunk for a client who moves a lot in the night.
It works well with a profiling bed, where raising the backrest is often what starts the slide in the first place, and it suits both supported care at home and facility use.
