The Phoenix 2 takes the Sorrento 2 base and adds the upper body support that complex postures need. The head, neck and shoulder sections adjust separately, the back height adjusts from 800 to 890 mm, and the leg rest goes to a negative angle for people who can’t straighten their knees. It tilts 5 degrees forward and back to 30 or 45 degrees, reclines from 90 to 130 degrees, and the leg rest moves from 80 to 150 degrees.
Seat width, depth, back height and footplate height all adjust, so the chair can follow the person as a condition progresses. Pressure care materials are used throughout. Manual, part motorised and fully motorised versions are available.
Who it suits
People with complex postures who need more head and trunk support than a standard care chair gives, in hospital, residential care or at home. We work with the prescribing OT or physio on set-up and trial the chair where it will be used, Tasmania-wide.
