Clients who need skin and soft tissue protection in bed, including those with a pressure injury at any stage, a skin graft or flap surgery to protect, or pain that makes lying still difficult.
The Sofflex 2 is a non powered air overlay in three sections. It goes on top of a standard hospital, care facility or home mattress, and each section snaps to the next so the surface can be adjusted per body segment. Setting each zone separately means the pelvis can be given a different level to the shoulders or the legs, and changed again as the client’s position shifts.
It needs no power source, so there is nothing to plug in and nothing to fail overnight. The polyvinyl surface wipes down and can be patched, which extends its working life in a facility.
