The seatbelt anchors the pelvis, and it is the part that makes the rest of the HTS setup safe to use: the tray, the chest strap and the headrest are all used with the belt fastened.
It attaches by inserting the clip into the socket on the seat and pushing until it latches, and it can be threaded to the inside of the seat where a more active client needs a firmer line of pull. That threading option is worth knowing about for clients who work their way forward on the seat.
Getting the belt right is usually the first thing a therapist sets and the last thing a carer checks before stepping away.
