Some clients toilet best leaning forward, with the trunk supported and the arms resting. The HTS anterior support gives them that: a padded surface to lean against that holds the chest and lets the arms sit on the tray.
It puts the client into a forward lean that assists bowel emptying while taking the postural work off them, which is often what turns a long unproductive sit into a short productive one. Tray depth is set by squeezing the latch under the front, so a carer can bring it in or push it out without tools.
The seatbelt is used whenever the tray is in place. Fitted that way, it gives the carer both hands free for hygiene care.
