A high back patient chair developed with clinicians for wards, day units and residential care, where the same chair has to work for a long line of different people. The frame is strong and the weight capacity is high, and the seating surfaces use low resilient foam with two way stretch upholstery to limit shear on the skin.
Seat depth and seat height both adjust, which is the practical part for a therapist: set the depth to the thigh length so the pelvis sits back, set the height so the feet load, and the client is far more likely to stand up from it unaided. The tall backrest supports the upper trunk and head for a client who fatigues through the day.
Tilt and move wheels let one staff member reposition the chair without a second pair of hands.
