This Staebel cushion is for a client at high risk of pressure injury who also needs help holding the pelvis and legs in line. The top surface is pre contoured, so the thighs and hips settle into position and stay there, and a collapsible gel topper sits over that contour to give immersion and envelopment where the bony points load.
Under the gel there are three foam layers: a memory foam middle for conformity and a higher density base that resists bottoming out. An internal polyurethane film wraps the foam as a fluid barrier, which protects the memory foam from incontinence and keeps the cushion performing over its life. That same film gives a wipeable surface, so the cushion can be cleaned properly between users.
The outer cover is stretch, vapour permeable and water resistant, and it machine washes.
