Who it suits
The Crystal 2 is a self propelling wheelchair for a client who has the upper body strength to push themselves but wants a chair that stays light enough for a carer or family member to lift into a boot. The frame is aluminium and the rear wheels come off with a quick release, so the folded package that goes into the car is a fraction of the set up chair.
Both occupant and attendant get their own brakes, so the person in the chair can park themselves at a table and the carer can hold the chair steady during a transfer without reaching past them. The leg rests swing away and lift off completely, which clears the front of the chair for a standing or sliding transfer, and the footplates fold up with heel straps fitted.
The backrest folds down flat and the height of the leg rests adjusts, so one chair can be set up for a few different users in a shared or hire situation. Armrests are padded for longer sits.
