A standing programme works best when the child still has something to do while they are up. The R82 Meerkat supports an upright position with as little restraint as practical, so the child can shift weight, reach for things and play while they are standing.
It comes in three sizes covering early childhood through to adolescence, and the centre column can be fitted in front of the child or behind them, giving you anterior or posterior support from the same frame. All supports adjust with a ratchet system and no tools, so a parent, teacher or carer can make a change without waiting for a review. Growth adjustable accessories including knee supports, trunk supports and trays are available to build the setup around the child.
Who it suits
A child who can take some weight through the legs and benefits from a standing programme with room to move, for example cerebral palsy with fair head and trunk control, or a child learning to stand. The Meerkat offers minimal support by design, so the child needs enough head and trunk control to use that freedom.
