The Nitrum is Quickie’s answer for an active user who wants as much of their effort as possible turned into motion. The design came out of decades of building high end manual chairs combined with direct feedback from the people pushing them, and the focus throughout is propulsion efficiency.
For a full time self propeller, that efficiency compounds. Less energy lost in the frame means more left at the end of the day, and lower shoulder load over the years, which is the single thing most likely to end a client’s independent mobility. The chair is also light to lift, with the wheels and wheel locks coming off quickly for a car boot.
Seat width and depth, seat height, backrest height and angle and frame angle are all specified to the script, and there is a wide range of frame colours. Quickie’s online 3D visualiser lets a client build and see their chair before it is ordered, which helps a lot with a young person who has strong views about how their chair should look.
