Most hygiene slings assume the client can hold their own head up. This one does not. The ProSling Hygiene with Head Support keeps the toileting cut, open from mid back to mid thigh so clothing can be managed on the commode or toilet, and adds the head support, padding under the arms and around the midsection, and a buckle waist strap for security.
The fabric is quick drying polyester mesh that takes a hot wash, which is what infection control asks for where the sling is used across a service. Loop straps are colour coded by size and give three attachment positions, so the sitting angle can be set to suit the client and repeated by whoever is on shift. It fits yoke frame hoists, including Molift, Oxford and most floor and ceiling models.
Who it suits
A client who is hoisted for toileting, can sit with support, but has poor head or trunk control, where a standard hygiene sling would not hold them safely. It is a sitting-only sling: the client has to be seated to have it fitted, and it must not be used as a general purpose sling for bed or floor lifts. A client who needs a full length sling, or who cannot tolerate the open hygiene aperture, should be referred to the ProSling General Purpose with Head Support instead. An assessment is required before use.
