Night time falls often come down to one thing: the client got up in the dark. A portable sensor light puts light exactly where it is needed, at the bedside, in a hallway or at the top of a step, and it comes on by itself when someone moves.
Because it is a sensor unit, the person does not have to find a switch or carry a torch, and there is no reaching across a bed for a lamp. It is a simple, low cost addition to a falls plan for a client who is mostly independent but unsteady on the way to the toilet.
The LED draws very little power, so a charge lasts a long stretch of nights, and it recharges over USB from a phone charger or a laptop, with no batteries to buy and swap. Being portable, it can move to wherever the risk is, or travel with the client to respite or a family member’s house.
