A walk belt gives the carer a firm, comfortable place to hold when a client needs steadying through a transfer or a short walk. The carer holds the belt, not the person’s clothing or arm, which gives better control and much less risk of bruising fragile skin.

This version closes with hook and loop, so it can be fitted quickly around a seated client and adjusted in one movement. That suits carers who find buckles slow or fiddly, and clients whose waist size changes through the day. Handles around the belt give hand positions at the front, side and back, so two carers can work from either side.

It comes in a range of sizes, and fitting it snugly over clothing at the waist is what makes it work.
