About this product

If a client is hoisted for every transfer and cannot hold their head or trunk up, this is the sling most services settle on. The Oxford Full Back supports from head to thigh with an integrated boned head support and padded leg sections, and it attaches with colour coded loops that give the carer a choice of positions on the spreader bar.

The polyester is stain resistant and washes hot, which matters when the sling is in daily use and occasionally needs more than a rinse. Positioning handles on the back let a carer straighten the client in the chair once the lift is finished, and a modesty loop holds the leg sections together on the way. Colour coded binding identifies the size, so the right sling comes out of the cupboard first time.

Who it suits

Clients with poor or no head and trunk control who need a full lift from bed to chair or commode: advanced dementia, MND, high spinal cord injury, or a stroke with dense hemiplegia. It is the workhorse sling for a passive mobile or ceiling hoist. A client who can sit unsupported and only needs the sling for the lift itself has more freedom in a universal sling without head support, and for showering the net version of this sling is the one to choose.
