Bathing a child with limited head, trunk or postural control is hard on the carer and unsafe for the child if there is nothing holding them in position. The Otter bath chair supports the child at an angle you set, leaving both of the carer’s hands free to wash.
Who it suits
It is designed for children with cerebral palsy, global developmental delay or any condition affecting sitting balance. The seat and back each set to one of five angles using the Uni-Bars, and the adjustment can be made one handed while the child is in the chair, so you can change position partway through a bath. Height and width adjustable lateral supports steady the head or trunk, and leg straps manage abduction and positioning.
The plastic frame will not corrode, the fabric comes off for machine washing, and the whole chair folds flat for storage or travel. Slip resistant legs raise the chair for easier carer access, and the seat fabric can be removed to bathe a child on the floor of the tub against the chair back.
