About this product

The Oska Fika is a static foam mattress for a client at risk of pressure injury who does not need a pump. Layers of pressure-relieving foam sit under a microclimate top layer, and the foot end has a heel relief slope with Oska’s Offloader function, so the heels can be suspended clear of the surface altogether.

That heel feature is why a lot of clinicians choose it. Heels are hard to protect on a flat surface and easy to lose, and offloading them without a separate boot keeps the care plan simple. An anti-shear system reduces drag on skin as the bed profiles, a fire evacuation base is built in, and the cover is waterproof, vapour permeable and washes hot, so it handles reissue.

Who it suits

A client at medium risk who spends long periods in bed, or one who has healed a low grade injury and needs a supportive surface without a pump: an older client at home on a Home Care Package, or an NDIS participant with reduced mobility who can still reposition with help. A client with an existing category 3 or 4 injury on the trunk, or who cannot move at all, should be assessed for an alternating air system such as the Zephair.

Good to know

  • Fits standard single, king single and queen bed frames including electric profiling beds
  • No pump or power needed
  • Check the frame and rails accommodate a 140 mm mattress depth
  • Bed rail height and mattress depth should be checked together for entrapment risk
