These laterals are for the client who holds a reasonable posture in a contoured back but still needs contact at the trunk to stop a lean developing. They fit the fixed height and height adjustable NXT back supports and are set up by the fitter on the chair.
Three hardware options cover the usual clinical calls: fixed, where support has to stay put; swing away, where a carer needs the pad out of the road for a side transfer; and swing away extendable, where the width has to grow with the client or the season’s clothing. Each pad adjusts in angle, length and position.
Pad choices include a small and a large flat pad, a dual adjustable angled pad on extendable hardware, and a contoured pad for a client with a curved back. Neoprene covers can be added where the pad sits against skin.
