On a high rail the trolley can sit well above where a carer can comfortably reach, which makes connecting and disconnecting a portable hoist awkward. The Molift Nomad Extension Arm fits between the rail trolley and the hoist and drops it to a workable height, so the Nomad goes on and comes off without tools.
It also buys the lifting strap extra travel, which is what you want when the client is being lifted from the floor. Two lengths are made, and the right one depends on the ceiling height and the lowest lift position the transfer needs, so it is worth checking against the room before ordering.
It is only needed where a Nomad runs on a ceiling or freestanding rail. A fixed hoist on the Molift Rail System does not use one. The arm is sold on its own: the rail trolley and the hoist are separate.
Good to know
- Fits the Molift Nomad portable ceiling hoist only
- Rail trolley and hoist are sold separately
- The length affects the lowest and highest lift heights; check both against the transfer
