Underarm crutches are the usual choice after a lower limb fracture or surgery, where a person needs to offload one leg completely for a set period and has good upper body strength to do it.

The Alpha CR-U is aluminium, adjusts for height by push button at both the main shaft and the handgrip, and comes in three sizes covering youth through to tall adult. Getting both adjustments right keeps the axilla pad clear of the armpit and the weight through the hands where it belongs, which is what prevents the nerve irritation that comes from leaning on the pads.

Foam rubber handgrips, underarm pads and reinforced slip resistant tips are all replaceable, so a pair stays in service across several clients in a hire fleet or a hospital ward once the tips wear.
