A handbrake gives a child real control over how fast their Marcy walker moves. For a child who builds up speed on a slope or a smooth floor and then cannot slow the frame down, it takes the fear out of walking and lets them keep going for longer.
It is operated from the handle, which makes it a skill the child can learn for themselves. Learning to slow and stop the frame themselves is often the step that lets a child walk in a corridor or a playground without someone holding on behind.
The brake is supplied in sizes to match the Marcy frame and can be fitted to a walker already in use.
