Most falls at home are not injuries, they are a person on the floor who cannot get up and a carer who must not lift them. The Mangar ELK is the way out of that. The carer slides the folded cushion under the person, then inflates it in stages from a hand control until they are sitting at a height where standing, or transferring across to a chair, is possible again.
It is inflated by the battery operated Airflo 24 compressor, so it works in a bathroom, a hallway or beside a bed with no power point in reach, and the whole cushion folds into a carry bag that a single carer can bring in. That is what gets it into the tight spaces where people actually fall.
Its load rating makes it a standard piece of bariatric falls equipment, and it is designed for one carer working alone. The person does need enough sitting balance to stay upright as the cushion rises, so check that before it goes into a falls plan.
