Falls in the home are common and most of the people who have them are not injured, they are simply stuck on the floor. The Mangar Eagle is an inflatable lifting cushion that both sits a person up and lifts them from the floor to a height they can transfer from, using air supplied by the Airflo 24 compressor.

The carer slides the deflated cushion under the person, and the four chambers inflate in sequence so the person is brought upright gradually with a backrest behind them the whole way. It has a small footprint and works in tight spaces such as a bathroom or a hallway, which is usually where the fall has happened.

For care teams it removes the repetitive manual lifting that causes back injuries, and for the person on the floor it removes the wait for an ambulance crew. Handled well, it turns a distressing event into a few minutes of assisted movement.
