One handed food preparation is where a lot of kitchen independence is won or lost. This workstation brings the jobs that normally need two hands onto a single board: chopping, grating, slicing, spreading and mixing.
Suction cup feet hold the board to the bench, including on a wet surface, so the person is not chasing it around. Removable stainless steel spikes hold vegetables and fruit steady for cutting and peeling, and a raised L shaped corner traps a slice of bread while it is buttered. A removable clamp holds a bowl for mixing, with a clamp edge that reverses from flat to contoured to suit different bowls. The grater and slicer lift out for cleaning and come with a protective cover.
It is a sensible option after a stroke, for a client with hemiplegia, or for anyone with reduced grip or dexterity in one hand. The board lifts off the bench when it is not wanted.
