This cushion is for clients at long-term risk of skin breakdown who cannot weight shift or reposition themselves, and who need the seating surface to do the work for them. The J2 Deep Contour has a deeper pelvic loading area, so the ischial tuberosities drop in and load spreads across a much larger area of tissue.
The base is a pre-contoured closed-cell foam that can be carved and built up, in the factory or in the field, so a client with asymmetry can be accommodated properly. A JAY Flow fluid tripad sits in the loading area under a soft foam overlay, conforming to the individual and adjusting as the client moves in the chair. There is nothing to pump, check or inflate, which suits clients who rely on carers.
The deep contour also gives good anterior stability for someone who tends to slide forward through the day.
