Some clients sit wider than the chair frame suggests, or need the back set further out to clear a kyphosis without pushing them forward on the cushion. The extended hardware version of the JAY Care Back gives you that offset while keeping everything else the same.
The back itself is a contoured shell with a configurable foam insert and built-in lateral support, designed around a fixed kyphotic thoracic spine. Generous back angle adjustment lets you tune the seat to back angle so the head sits upright and the client stops sliding forward.
Spreading load across the whole upper back is what keeps a client comfortable for longer, and that is the point of the configurable insert: you build the shape around the spine you have in front of you.
