For a client in chronic pain, the sling itself can be the worst part of the transfer. The Invacare Comfort sling uses a hammock style cut that supports the body evenly along its length, so the load is spread along the body.
This is the high back version, so the head and neck are supported through the lift, which suits a client with poor head control or one who cannot tolerate their head being unsupported while they are moved. The shape also works well for above the knee amputees, where a standard leg configuration has nothing to hold.
It is made in polyester fabric with colour coded loops, so the carer can set the recline or upright position consistently and hand over to the next shift without guesswork. Four sizes are available and it launders at commercial temperatures.
