Matrx Libra is for clients who need the highest level of skin protection from a wheelchair cushion and firm control of the pelvis at the same time. A moulded high resilient foam base is topped with a dual layer, three chamber fluid sac using Flo-tech technology, so the fluid wraps around bony prominences and stays wrapped when the client changes position.
The cushion offloads weight from the ischial tuberosities onto the trochanters, hips and thighs, and the contoured shape gives lateral trochanteric support with anterior and posterior pelvic stability. That combination helps spinal extension, which in turn supports head control and upper limb function.
It is modular, so wedges, a fluid supplement pad, an abductor and lateral supports can be added to correct or accommodate obliquity, rotation and hip flexion limits. The fluid does not need kneading and is not temperature sensitive, so there is nothing for a carer to maintain.
