Who it suits
The Icon Soft is built for clients who spend long stretches in bed and cannot reposition themselves easily. The upper immersion layer is a soft memory foam, the body sinks in and load is redistributed across a wider area, taking the peak off the sacrum and heels. Underneath, a comfort layer and a firm base keep posture supported and stop the mattress bottoming out during care.
The shallower build is useful where bed rail height, a low bed or a transfer height has to be preserved. It keeps the sleeping surface closer to the frame, which helps when your client stands from the edge of the bed or uses a stand aid.
The Advantiflex Classic cover is waterproof and stretches in four directions, so it moves with the foam and does not tent across it, and the welded seams stand up to an infection control routine.
