The Icare IC30 ActiveX is the high risk pressure care surface Icare builds for its own adjustable beds, and it works just as well on other profiling frames. The top layer is ActiveX foam infused with gel and charcoal, which redistributes pressure and runs cooler than plain memory foam, over a supportive base with firm side edges.
Those firm edges matter for a client who sits on the side of the bed to dress or to stand. Underneath, an anti-slip base and Icare’s contour latch hold the mattress in place as the bed profiles, so it does not creep towards the foot end over a week of head raises. It is flip free, and the Bluetec cover zips off and goes in the machine.
Who it suits
A client on an adjustable bed who needs a high risk surface without a pump: an older client with reduced mobility, thin skin or a history of pressure injury who still moves in bed. Sizes run through to split queen, so a couple can keep sharing a bed while one side adjusts. A client who cannot reposition at all, or who has an existing deep pressure injury, belongs on an alternating air or hybrid mattress instead.
