About this product

Some clients have the arm movement for a meal but no way to hold the utensil. This holder solves that: the stretch fabric sleeve takes the handle of a fork, spoon, pen, brush or comb, and an adjustable strap passes over the back of the hand to keep the whole thing in place.

It suits people with severe weakness, contractures, tetraplegia or a hand that cannot close, and it is often a quick win in the middle of a longer upper limb program. Because the strap adjusts, the same holder fits a swollen hand and a thin one, and it works on either side.

The fabric is soft against the skin, so it can stay on through a whole meal or a writing task without pressure problems. Slipping an item in and out is straightforward for a carer.
