About this product

Turning is the hard part of getting into a bath. This Freedom bench takes it out. The padded seat rotates and locks at quarter turns, so your client sits down facing out, is turned to face along the bath, then slides in along the frame. No leg goes over the rim and the carer does not have to lift or twist anyone.

The seat is padded polyurethane rather than bare plastic, the backrest folds down, and the padded armrests carry an integrated safety belt for a client who needs holding in position. Height adjustable legs with suction rubber tips set the bench level across the rim and stop it sliding. The aluminium frame is light, and it arrives flat-packed.

It suits a client who wants to keep using the bath they have but cannot safely step over the rim: reduced hip and knee range, poor standing balance, or a carer-assisted transfer after surgery or a stroke. If your client can stand safely and only needs a rest point in a level-entry shower, a shower stool or shower chair is simpler and cheaper.
