A general ward mattress for mental health settings, where a sleep surface has to be comfortable enough for a long admission and safe enough for a distressed client. The FM4 is built in three foam layers, with a comfort layer over graded support, so it holds posture through the night without bottoming out.
The cover is a four way stretch, vapour permeable polyurethane, sealed at every seam with no zip anywhere on the mattress. That removes the obvious ligature and concealment points and keeps fluids out of the foam, so it cleans down properly between clients.
It is designed to be rotated four ways, so the wear spreads evenly and a unit gets the full life out of each mattress. The foam is treated against microbial growth and both the foam and the cover are fire retardant. Made in Australia, with several cover grades to suit the risk level of the ward.
