Folding armrests are what make a side transfer onto a Swift Mobil possible, but for some clients that same movement is a risk: they lean on the armrest, it drops, and the transfer goes wrong. This locking pin holds the arm support where you put it.
It locks the armrest either down, so the client can safely push through it to stand, or up and out of the way while a carer completes a transfer. The pin is stainless steel and stays with the chair, so it is there when the next carer needs it.
A sensible addition for anyone who stands from the chair, or for a client who is impulsive and needs the armrest to stay put.
